Easter Decorations

Easter Decorations

I love getting my home ready for different holidays and seasons. Of course Halloween and Christmas are the big ones. But it’s fun to decorate for Valentine’s Day and Easter, too.

When it comes to my Easter decorations, I keep things simple and spring-forward. I prefer subtle touches — pastel throw pillows, fresh florals, linen napkins, and natural textures — over anything too cutesy or overwhelming.

If you're looking for modern Easter decorating ideas that feel fresh without taking over your home, keep reading. I'm sharing my favorites for inside and outside your home, plus some easy tips to get you started.

What I Love About Easter

There's something about Easter that feels especially full of meaning. For our family, Easter is rooted in faith — it's a time to celebrate hope, renewal, and the resurrection of Jesus. That sense of hope is something I want our home to reflect, even in small, simple ways.

Beyond the spiritual side, Easter is also just a beautiful season. There’s more daylight in the evenings, flowers are blooming, and our garden is growing. It almost feels like a breath of fresh air has come to rejuvenate us all.

We also have our favorite family traditions — reading Easter books, decorating eggs, hiding baskets, making sticky buns on Easter morning, and gathering for deviled eggs in the afternoon. It's one of those holidays where the whole day just feels warm and intentional.

These are the very thoughts and feelings I want to be reminded of when I look at my Easter home decor.

Easter Decorating Tips

Finding cute Easter decorations that complement the rest of your home decor can be challenging. But it should be fun, not stressful! Here are some easy ideas to help you decorate for Easter.

  1. Pick a few spots to decorate. I love things that can slide easily onto bookshelves, coffee tables, and console tables. If you have a fireplace, your mantel is another simple spot where you can switch out your home decor.

  2. Keep it minimal and modern. Pick a few objects for each spot you decorate, and focus on non-plastic materials, like ceramic, glass, wood, felt, and woven grass.

  3. Stick to kids’ bedrooms. My girls love their rooms decorated! So, I have cute Easter decorations in there but less in the main areas of our house. This also works well for little kids who love to “re-decorate” (i.e., move things around) after you place them.

  4. Focus on spring elements. Seasonal decor is often more subtle than holiday decor, plus it can stay out longer. Instead of Happy Easter signs and egg decor, you can focus more on spring colors, natural textures, spring flowers, and greenery. Bunny figurines are also a good way to meet in the middle since they work for both Easter and spring.

  5. Create a centerpiece. A festive centerpiece is a simple way to decorate for Easter. This could be some flowers in a vase (faux or real), decorative eggs in a tray, or some bunny figurines.

  6. Make simple switches. Some simple swaps in your home decor can instantly change the look of any room. For example, you can change out your kitchen towels, bed sheets, and throw pillows. Another easy idea is adding a seasonal wreath to your front door.

  7. Mix up materials, heights, and textures. You don’t have to be an expert to decorate your home! Just keep this decorating tip in mind when setting out your Easter decorations. For example, you could put a couple of tall tapered candles or a vase of tulips next to some small bunny figurines.

Golden Bunnies: These bunnies make such cute Easter decorations! The gold finish complements any design style, and you can set them out on your mantel, table, or bookshelf.

Ceramic Bunnies: I have ones similar to these that I put on my mantel and coffee table. They would also add an elegant touch to your Easter table decor.

Artificial Tulips: Tulips are so pretty for spring, but sadly they don’t last long once cut! These artificial flowers look realistic and are perfect for an Easter centerpiece. Plus you can store them away and bring them out year after year.

Easter Window Decorations: Window clings are an easy way to decorate for any holiday. Plus kids love them! I also like that these are double-sided, so you can enjoy them from inside or outside the house.

Speckled Easter Eggs: These pretty pastel eggs make great fillers for trays, woven baskets, and tall glass vases.

Easter Tea Towel: I love switching out my linens in the kitchen during different seasons and holidays. Geometry towels are my favorite, and they have so many pretty patterns to choose from. Use the code MKMMBI15 for 15% off your order.

Easter Bunny Figurines: These flocked bunnies are super cute for your Easter table or mantel. I love the soft pastel colors and velvety look, plus the set includes three different sizes.

Artificial Moss Bunnies: This is a fun way to add a bit of greenery to your Easter home decor. They’re water resistant, so you could also use them as front porch decor or as Easter party decorations for an outside celebration.

Felt Daisy Basket: These felt baskets would look super cute on an Easter table, console, or shelf. You can also use them as Easter decor for a kid’s room.

Easter Egg Tabletop Tree: This felted tree is a great way to add some height to your Easter decorations. Plus, all of the details are so pretty! When I was growing up, we also had something similar to this Easter tree.

Cherry Blossoms: Cherry blossoms are so beautiful but never last long! These artificial branches would make a gorgeous centerpiece and can be enjoyed all spring.

Wooden Bunnies: I love the simple, yet unique design of these wooden bunnies. This set will look cute anywhere in your home — whether it’s your entryway, living room, kitchen, or a kid’s room.

Easter Garland: This Easter garland is super pretty and will instantly make any room look ready for the holiday. It also holds up better than paper garlands, so you can bring it out year after year.

Easter Egg Wreath: I love the soft, muted colors of this Easter wreath. Even though it features Easter eggs, it’s still subtle enough to display throughout spring.

Easter Table Decor

Easter Plates: This collection features beautiful spring details and is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe up to 425 degrees. Even just one set would look stunning on your Easter table!

Glass Candle Holders: A fun and simple way to make your Easter table decor feel more fancy! I love the pink for spring, and they can easily be used for other occasions, too.

Hydrangea Candles: These candles would look gorgeous on a mantel or dining room table. The floral design has a delicate look and adds beautiful texture to your Easter decor.

Woven Bunnies: I love the natural look of these woven bunnies. You can use them as part of a centerpiece, on a bookcase or the coffee table. This bunny is also a great option!

Easter Coloring Banner: Tiny Expressions has the best coloring posters for different holidays. The designs are huge and the paper lays flat, so it’s easy for kids to color. We like this version, too!

Table Runner: Perfect for an Easter brunch, lunch, or dinner! This table runner adds an elegant look to your Easter table and comes in tons of beautiful colors.

Bunny Napkin Rings: Sometimes you need just a few small seasonal accents to set an Easter table. These napkin rings are very subtle and add the perfect amount of whimsy to your Easter home decor.

Kids’ Easter Decor

Allowing your kids to choose a few Easter decorations for their rooms can encourage their creativity and give them a sense of control. Their bedrooms are also a great spot for more of the cutesy decorations. A win-win for everyone!

Bunny Throw Pillow: This fuzzy bunny pillow would look super cute on a kid’s bed, couch, or chair.

Easter Blanket: I love Etsy for custom blankets. We have found so many cute ones there! This bunny blanket is so sweet and comes in a few different colors for spring.

Easter Bunny Decorations for Table: These would be so cute in a kids room on a dresser or nightstand.

Cuddle + kind Hannah The Bunny: My kids each got these stuffies when they were little. Not only are they incredibly well made and ethically produced, but each doll purchased provides 10 meals to children in need.

Happy Easter Tabletop Decoration: This is a little too cutesy for my living room, but would look adorable in a kid’s room, nursery, or play room.

Easy Kids Easter Activities

Easter Egg Decorator: Mess free egg decorating? Yes please! My kids love this little machine so much that we end up decorating eggs more than just around Easter time.

Easter Egg Painting Kit: These egg squishies are a great Easter craft for kids, and they make fun toys.

Easter Egg Gem Art Magnets: My girls and I love gem art! This craft requires patience and calm hands to get the tiny gems onto the magnets, which leads to quiet, happy kids for hours.

Easter Wood Bunnies Painting Activity Kit: This simple activity allows kids to be creative and make their own cute Easter decor.

Outdoor Easter Decorations

I like to keep my outdoor decor as subtle as I do on the inside of my home. Typically, I opt for a few decorations that fit in with my personal style, which means natural materials and a minimalist, modern look.

Easter Egg Wreath: I love the look of this wreath for a front door (though it also works inside, too). All of the pastel colors blend in beautifully together, and the wildflowers make it perfect to keep up through all of spring.

Spring Wreath: If you want a wreath that’s a little less Eastery, this eucalyptus wreath is perfect for spring. It’s also an easy way to add some greenery to your front door or window.

Door Mat: This is an easy switch you can make every season that will keep your door mat fresh and festive. I love the natural look of this mat, and the simple bunny design works perfectly for both Easter and spring.

Easter Home Decor

Artificial Flowers: I love adding flowers to my front porch — especially ones I don’t have to water or prune! This set comes with enough flower bundles to fill a pot and will instantly brighten up your porch or patio.

Bunny-Shaped Topiary Tree: Several of my neighbors have these in their front porch planter pots, and they are seriously sweet. If you’re looking for statement pieces that blend in with the rest of your greenery, these boxwood topiaries are a great choice.

Wicker Bunny Set: Made of eco-friendly bamboo, these bunnies are handwoven for a natural, rustic look. This is a great way to make your front porch stand out while still keeping your outdoor decorations subtle.

Q&A: Easter Decorating

When do you decorate for Easter?

I like to decorate as soon as Lent begins (Ash Wednesday). This gives us plenty of time to enjoy our seasonal decorations. Since most of my Easter home decor is subtle and blends in, I can also keep a lot of it out past the holiday.

What are some areas of my home I can decorate for Easter?

For outdoor Easter decorations, I keep it very simple with a door wreath and a door mat. For the inside of your home, you can add Easter decor to tabletops and bookshelves, as well as your fireplace mantel. Simple swaps, like switching out linens, can instantly refresh other rooms in your home, too. My kids love having Easter decorations in their bedroom, too.

How do I decorate for an Easter party?

Wherever you are eating (or celebrating) will be your focal point. Easter party decorations could include a banner, table runner, and centerpiece. It could also be fun to have Easter place settings for the table.

How do I decorate for Easter on a budget?

The good news is that Easter decor doesn't have to be expensive to feel special. Start with what you already have. A simple vase filled with grocery store tulips (or faux ones) looks beautiful on the table. Pretty dinner napkins can be surprisingly beautiful too. Target and Amazon both have great options at very affordable price points. Focusing on spring elements like florals, greenery, and pastel colors also means pieces can do double duty all season long, so you're getting more use out of every purchase.

What Easter decor works for spring, too?

This is my favorite approach to Easter decorating. I lean into spring rather than going all-in on holiday-specific pieces. Bunny figurines, pastel florals, woven textures, and greenery all feel right at home from February through May. I typically avoid anything with a "Happy Easter" message and anything that is more holiday-specific. When in doubt, choose natural materials and soft colors over novelty items, and you'll have decor that feels fresh for the whole season.

How do I make Easter special for my kids without going overboard?

I love activities that we normally would be doing, just adding in an Easter twist. For instance, we love Easter coloring posters, egg-shaped arts and crafts, Easter word searches, and playing Easter-themed games like Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
