Hi friends! Many of you know that I absolutely love skincare. When my skin looks good, I feel better and when my skin looks good I feel much more confident without makeup. Skincare can be very overwhelming, which is why it is no surprise that skincare recommendations are always on of the most requested topic from you all.
Before I dive into my favorite morning and evening routine products that work well with my skin, I want to give you two pieces of advice. First would be to consult with a dermatologist. Second would be to only ever try one new skincare product at a time. If a product doesn't work well with your skin, you can easily eliminate it from your routine.
For reference, I have normal to combination skin.
Morning Skincare:
- I don't want to scrub my skin with anything harsh in the morning, so this gentle exfoliant is a favorite. Simply add water to the rice bran and it transforms into a creamy foam.
- Vitamin C is a close 2nd most important item (sunscreen being 1st) in my skincare routine. It is a potent antioxidant that can help to slow signs of aging and can also reduce dark spots, redness & irritation.
- Skincare doesn't have to be expensive to be a holy grail item. This moisturizer has been a go-to of mine for over a decade. Hydrating, yet extremely lightweight.
- I have dark circles under my eyes. This eye cream is moisturizing & has a slight shimmer to it that reflects light and reduces the appearance of those dark circles.
- The most important product in my skincare routine is a good quality sunscreen! This sunscreen is sheer & so lightweight, I don't feel it under my foundation. I wear this sunscreen 365 days a year, rain or shine. My kids wear it daily too!
Evening Skincare:
- The first step in my evening skincare routine is to remove all my makeup. This cleansing balm gently removes my makeup without stripping my skin.
- This face wash was a game changer in my skincare routine. It exfoliates dead skin cells, leaving smoother skin, but be advised, it is very strong, so use sparingly at first.
- I started using these peel pads about 6 months ago and love the results. They gently exfoliate your skin, leaving me with fewer breakouts.
- I've tried many eye creams and this is a standout. It is lightweight, yet extremely hydrating. It's an OG in my routine for a great reason!
- Rounding out my evening skincare routine is a new favorite moisturizer. It is extremely hydrating, but not greasy & you only need a pea-size amount, so it lasts for awhile.
